DEAR TEAMS,
PAY ATTENTION TO THE CLARIFICATIONS!
Sides:
a.
Each team must submit eitheran Applicant or Respondent memorial to the Competition
Committee by November 20, 2009 (for purposes of these rules, the Kingdom of Aduncus is the
Applicant and the Republic of Mersenne is the Respondent).
b.
The team may indicate which side (Applicant or Respondent) the team desires to represent in
the Competition. The Regional Competition Committee will notify teams about their assignments as they are requested. Notification will be made on a rolling basis, usually within 72 hours of receipt of a request, except for the second team of each school as per rule D.1.d.
c.
The team will then represent the side for which they write the memorial in all oral rounds.
d.
If a school has entered two teams, one team must write for Applicant and the other must write for Respondent. The acceptance of the second team will depend on acceptance by the Regional Competition Committee. For deciding upon the acceptance of the second team the Regional Competition Committee will take into account the number of teams registered.
e.
Teams that do not indicate a preference will be assigned a side. If a school enters two teams,

then represent the other side.
